KYC — Know Your Customer

KYC documents required to open and maintain an account with the bank, in line with the directions of the Reserve Bank of India.

Why KYC is required

Under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act and the RBI’s Master Direction on Know Your Customer, every bank must verify the identity and address of its customers. KYC protects you as well — it keeps your account secure and prevents misuse.

Documents accepted

  • Proof of identity: Aadhaar card, Passport, Voter ID, Driving Licence, or PAN card.
  • Proof of address: Aadhaar card, Passport, Voter ID, Driving Licence, or a recent utility bill.
  • A recent passport-size photograph.
  • PAN card (or Form 60 where PAN is not available) for accounts and transactions as prescribed.

Periodic updation

The bank is required to update KYC records periodically. If your branch asks you to submit fresh documents, please do so promptly to avoid restriction on your account.
